Falls Gears Up for 2017 Road Program
The Falls Township Board of Supervisors set the wheels in motion for improvements to a number of roads in 2017.
During its February meeting, the board unanimously voted to authorize advertisement for the 2017 road program. The project will be bid in March and construction is expected to be carried out later this year once bids have been awarded.
Plans call for a full-depth reconstruction of a portion of Walton Drive, as well as mill and overlay in Makefield Road Village and mill and overlay improvements on Mill Creek Parkway. Upgrades were designed in 2016, with construction planned for this year, as has been the case.
The board also approved a $68,000 proposal for Township engineer James Sullivan of T&M Associates to undertake road construction services, including bid administration and daily construction observation. In addition, T&M Associates will mediate any disputes that may arise with contractors and sub-contractors and work to keep the project on schedule.
Construction is expected to take approximately 120 days to complete.
