Outback Steakhouse Coming to Falls

By this time next year an Outback Steakhouse is expected to be up and running in Falls Township, whipping up its signature Bloomin’ Onion and steaks at this Australian-themed chain restaurant.

The Falls Township Supervisors voted unanimously to grant preliminary and final land development approval to Oxford Valley Road Associates, LP to demolish the shuttered Old Country Buffet building at 650 Commerce Boulevard and construct a 6,620-square-foot 240-seat Outback Steakhouse in its place.

Outback representatives said building plans are underway now and work could begin later this year but is more likely to start in spring 2019. Demolition of the existing building and construction is expected to take approximately five or six months to conclude, officials said.

The new restaurant will include a concrete patio waiting area. The eatery will be quite a bit smaller than the current structure, which housed a 10,417-square-foot Old Country Buffet until its closure in March 2016.

In addition to bringing a viable tax ratable to Falls, officials said site improvements include new curbing and minor regrading, as well as larger parking spaces. The site entrance and exit will remain the same.

Once constructed, the Outback Steakhouse will be located adjacent to Best Buy in The Court at Oxford Valley.
