Falls to Hold 1,000 Lights Water Lantern Festival June 15
Hundreds of lanterns could illuminate the lake at Falls Township Community Park on June 15 as part of the township’s first-ever 1,000 Lights Water Lantern Festival.
An outside company contacted Falls Township Parks and Recreation Director Brian Andrews to share thoughts on offering a floating water lantern festival at the community park. Andrews said the event was a way to “offer our residents something new.”
In addition to featuring illuminated lanterns, Andrews said the evening event will feature a “block party festival” atmosphere with food trucks, music and games for kids.
Admission for children up to age 9 is free and includes youth entertainment. Lanterns can be purchased separately. Cost for children ages 10 to 13 is $12.99 and includes entertainment access, one lantern and decorating kit. Adult entry costs $24.99 and includes entertainment access, one lantern and decorating kit.
Lanterns will be launched at dusk in the cove area of the park.
The park will remain open prior to and during the event, Andrews said, adding that the community is not required to buy a ticket unless they want to purchase a kit and participate within the area where the games and lantern float will take place.
The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Falls Township Community Park, 9050 Mill Creek Road in Levittown. For more information or to purchase advance tickets, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/philadelphia-bucks-county-1000-lights-water-lantern-festival-2019-tickets-58501051219
