Falls Township Road Improvement Plans Come in Under Budget
The Falls Township Board of Supervisors has set the wheels in motion for its 2019 road program.
The Supervisors on Tuesday night voted unanimously to award a bid to General Asphalt Paving Co., Inc. in the amount of $1,617,389.85 – a cost that came in well under budget, according to engineer Joe Jones.
As part of the annual road program, Falls plans to carry out full depth reconstruction of Rice Drive, Fletcher Drive and Lions Drive. In addition, a portion of Elbow Lane between Stony Hill Road and the Falls Township boundary has been designated for mill and overlay improvements.
Jones said he anticipates construction beginning by mid-October.
Each year Falls Township designates roads for its road improvement program. Some years the township can undertake more or fewer road upgrades depending upon budget changes, Supervisors Chairman Bob Harvie said.
