Bucks County Auto Tags

Martin Venegas comes from a long line of “car people.”

“My family’s been into cars forever,” said Venegas, who recently relocated and expanded his long-time business, Bucks County Auto Tags. “The only reason I’m in the business is I love vehicles so much.”

Prior to starting Bucks County Auto Tags, he worked as a general manager of his high school best friend’s car lot for five years. Looking to segue into the paperwork side of the car business, Venegas, in 1997, noticed a small office for rent and decided to plunge into business ownership.

“I didn’t want to work for anyone,” said Venegas, who studied business management at Northeastern University and Villanova University. “It’s been a pleasure registering people’s cars. We register everything from Ferraris to Ford Fiestas.”

Some customers even let Venegas take their fancy vehicles for a test drive. The business has registered its share of vintage motorcycles, antique vehicles, and fleets as well over the years.

Bucks County Auto Tags offers both online and manual services, which involves a courier driving the materials to Harrisburg for processing. Online services are completed on the spot, while manual services vary in turnaround time.

Venegas started his business in 1998 from a 400-square-foot office in Falls Township. In 2018, Venegas, who is also a real estate investor, purchased the building where Abat’s Liberty Auto Tag Service had operated previously. He spent the next roughly two years renovating the property. In September 2020 he moved Bucks County Auto Tags to a nearly 1,000-square-foot office on Lincoln Highway.

With the more than doubled space, Venegas, and his team of three employees, in addition to offering a wide range of Pennsylvania motor services, also provide a full insurance business.

“Now that we have a bigger facility, it’s much easier to facilitate our insurance,” he said.

Bucks County Auto Tags has thrived throughout the years in large part due to the top-notch customer service.

“We are completely customer service centric,” Venegas said. “We really take care of our customer.”

In addition to knowing “pretty much everyone” in Bucks County, Venegas said his customers often tell him they pass six or seven auto tag businesses in their travels to his business.

“We’re based on customer service,” he said. “We treat everyone as an equal.”
